Unique Formula Identifier / UFI

A UFI clearly identifies a formula. ECHA has provided a UFI generator for this purpose, including guidelines. All links are available at https://poisoncentres.echa.europa.eu/de/tools. Several UFIs may also be assigned to one formula, e.g. to maintain confidentiality in the supply chain.
Important: The UFI must be printed on the label or in the immediate vicinity of the label with the prefix "UFI".

The respective current interpretations can be found in a guide published especially for the harmonised notification. In order to avoid misunderstandings in the supply chain, the UFI may only be applied to the product after a PCN dossier has been submitted to ECHA. The UFI or, if necessary, several UFIs are transmitted in the notification to ECHA as a unique formula identifier. As distributor/rebrander, the handling of the UFI in the supply chain should be coordinated with the suppliers.
